At least, that’s the adjective that kept coming up as people tried to describe their sound. It was also common to list off influences, such as the Flaming Lips, the Smashing Pumpkins, My Bloody Valentine, and the Velvet Undergroundall bands known as much for their mysterious personas as for their atmospheric music. Lead singer Myshal Prasad is no different, blending poetry and post-punk into an emotionally resonant experience unlike any you’ve heard before.The band members came together as if by fate, with Peltzel and Kunkel meeting in college and Fowkes and Prasad running into each other at a bar. One newspaper ad later, the Team was assembled and released their first album in 1998. Their career brought them high-profile shows such as a slot at the South by Southwest Music Conference. Their second album was poised to bring them even more fans than the first. However, the band would never record another album, preferring to go out as they came in: quickly and without regret, leaving a legion of adoring fans in their wake.
